I need something to replace that ugly long journal on my page so here

I've thought about it for a while. Does anybody like boxing? I watch the contender allot and I love it. My dad used to box allot, maybe that's why I love it. I need something to do. I was thinking soccer, but I can do that at school. I need a job. I get $20 a week put into my bank for working around the house- I still don't feel like I earned it though. My parents are urging me to take up a self defence class of some sort (brother does martial arts)
Which is what I'm coming back to now:

Should I take up boxing?

Yes I'm a girl, but I'm very tomboyish and don't care what people think about women playing men's sport (it's bad enough that they had to change the rules). It's one of the things I can't stand about being female! Yes female bodies are weaker then men's. But we can still fight. I don't like being told what I should and shouldn't do, and this is my decision. Should I take it up?? It could be the answer I'm looking for with Lot's of things
- Becoming fitter & stronger
- Taking up self defence
- Learning something new
- Something to help take out stress

10. I-CAN'T-STAND-IT when people tell me how to live my life! Tell me what's right or wrong, good and bad, what I should and shouldn't do, what I should like & not like. I am my own person and will die before I turn into a follower.

(This is just a personal thing I feel like saying right now to get out of my system. Don't read unless you want to be lulled to sleep)
At the moment I'm feeling a little insignificant. I've convinced myself that I want to change more this year. Last year I change for the better. I used to be really quite, and never talked to anyone who wasn't in my small friend group. Then I opened up and became more friendly towards everybody and it did me the world of good. I'm friends with just about everybody in my grade now, and they all respect me for who I am now.
But anyway, this year I want to take another step. I got lazy with my studies. I got B's for most of my subjects (one C for maths). B's are fine I guess, but when it comes to a subject you enjoy like how I love media, art, biology & physical education allot, it makes me feel like I didn't work to the best of my ability. This year I'm going to change that. Meaning I will use MSN & deviantart less (not that many would care). I quit AMV making to make time. I may even start getting up hours earlier than I normally would to get my work done. I can't afford to slack off in these next two years of my life. Depending on how I choose to live these two years will decide what will happen when I leave. So I'm going to get serious.

Only problem is now is my mother, we don't have a strong connection when it comes to me talking to her about things. She thinks I am and always will be a person who isn't willing to try new things and when I do she treats me like I'm some sort of alien. And she criticizes me about everything I chose to do. I change something and she starts interrogating me. In these last few months I started to eat less and exercise/work out more. She thought I was trying to loose weight or try to impress some guy. What's wrong with wanting to be fit?? I'm lazy and don't have the best diet. I have to counter it somehow!
She's making her own preparations to stop me coming on MSN, deviantart, Internet etc. She watches me like a fucking hawk when I do homework cause she doesn't trust me.
I'm not a verbal person. I hate arguing with people (I like to physically fight not verbally) so I can't step up and tell her this. I'm thinking I'll show this journal to the school counselor and she can help me sort this all out. It will make things so much easier for me. I'll probably also as her to help me with my pressure problems. I stress and work myself up really easily when things go wrong. Eg. School work. Most of you know how they love to just crush me underneath it all. It stresses me and angers me really easy yet I keep a cap on it and try not to show it. So I'm going to have to work on handling that too...
